Witajcie, Kochani! U mnie ponownie vibe egipski, i ponownie fotki o tematyce nawiązującej do tego kraju. Tym razem to był bardzo krótki wypad, bo po mieszkaniowo - przeprowadzkowych rewolucjach nasz stan konta osiągnął poziom dna i mułu. Na szczęście udało się choć trochę wygrzać kości w rodzinnym gronie.
Pewnie pomyślicie, patrząc na zdjęcia, że to jakieś harce na staroegipskich pozostałościach państwa faraonów. Jakże złudne jest życie! Wyobraźcie sobie, że tablicę tę znalazłam w Hurghadzie, miejscowości turystycznej, oddalonej od Teb, Kairu, czy Asuanu... I tak naprawdę to wytwór współczesności - to element dekoracyjny wykonany na potrzeby hotelu dla turystów. Znalazłam go przypadkowo na pustyni obok jednego z hoteli, stylizowanych na staroegipski styl. Najwyrażniej kilka płyt okazało się zbędnych i robotnicy porzucili je na pustyni. Zaskoczyło mnie to ogromnie i jednocześnie dało pomysł na zdjęcia. Przyznam też, że smutno mi się zrobiło jak łatwo w Egipcie wyrzuca się na pustynię to, co wydaje sie niepotrzebne - gdyby to gdzieś schowali na terenie hotelu, może z czasem by wykorzystali do jakichś inastalacji, a tak, po prostu zniszczy się i zmarnuje.

Looking at the photos, you'll probably think these are some antics among the ancient Egyptian remains of the pharaohs' empire. How deceptive life can be! Imagine that I found this tablet in Hurghada, a tourist resort far removed from Thebes, Cairo, or Aswan... So it's actually a product of modern times—a decorative element made for a tourist hotel. I stumbled upon it by chance in the desert next to one of the hotels styled after ancient Egypt. Apparently, a few slabs turned out to be redundant, and the workers simply abandoned them in the desert. It surprised me immensely and, at the same time, gave me an idea for the photos. I must admit I also felt a bit sad about how easily things deemed unnecessary are tossed into the desert in Egypt. If they had hidden them somewhere on the hotel grounds, maybe they could have used them later for some installations, but like this, they will just get destroyed and go to waste.
Reality is unfortunately harder to accept than cropped photos... Oh well... Sigh...
